THANK YOU, DILIP! On Friday, I spent quality time with Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Innovation in NYC Mayor's Office for International Affairs. Was great to hear about all the global activity happening in NYC (193 countries are represented here; if NYC was its own country, it would be the 12th largest economy in the world) and the nonstop action happening every day. He was kind enough to carve out time to chat in his office and also have lunch at the UN. We also discussed how South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) can work with the ethnic and community press and international journalists. Prior to this role, he was in the Brooklyn President’s office, where he served as the Executive Director of Southeast & Asian Affairs. She is currently finishing a documentary about her mother’s 20-year struggle with depression and Indira’s role as her primary caregiver. Her mother’s depression was instigated by the death of Indira’s father twenty years ago. Neil Parekh will be the guest host.
